Gully boy movie revolves around character named ‘Morad,’ played by Ranveer Singh. It is a film about a 22-year-old boy from a ghetto in Mumbai, India. The son of a driver, his parents want him to do a white collar job. But Murad intends to be a rapper.
Authentic Hip Hop in India and is rising from the streets. The film showcases street rap from Mumbai’s lanes and rap artists emerging from it. Though the movie is not a biography but it is loosely inspired from the life of rappers Divine and Naezy.
Okay so as per me, the movie is very nice ‘bole toh hard ek dum.’ Very inspiring and highly promotes talent. The whole movie was beautifully directed and the power pack performance by Ranveer Singh could be felt and Alia Bhatt also nailed her role of ‘Safina.’ Zoya Akhtar’s direction is praiseworthy and so is dialogue writing by Vijay Maurya. Though the movie was magnificent but the movie over goes, some scenes were unnecessarily extended and movie should have also showed a bit more about the star after him getting famous and successful. The movie is a one time watch and I’m sure you will not regret after watching it and is worth your money,
I would give Gully boy 4/5
