2018 was an incredible year at the movies. Some of the most remarkable films were witnessed such as black panther, while others came out of nowhere such as Green Book. These movies remind us that we’re still scratching at the surface of what Hollywood industry has to offer. So it is obviously to get excited about what Hollywood have in store for us in 2019.
From superhero flicks like Endgame to Scorsese’s next crime drama that is going to take us back to late 20th century’s crime films , here are the most awaited movies of 2019.
1. Once Upon a Time In Hollywood
Once upon a time in Hollywood is a movie that hardcore movie fans are waiting for years. The fact that it is only the 9th film by Quentin Tarantino in his career that expands over 27 glorious years, is itself sufficient to make fans anxious for the movie.
Directing the film from a script that took him five years to develop, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” boasts one of the most impressive and eclectic ensemble casts of all times, led by A-listers Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, appearing in their first feature film together, with Margot Robbie and Al Pacino bringing up the rear.
Film is set in 1960s Hollywood and will release on 26th July 2019. This might be last or second last movie of Tarantino as he have time and again said that he is not going to make more than 10 movies in his career and plans to retire by his 60th birthday.
2. Star Wars: Episode IX
One of the most anticipated film of next year, Star Wars: Episode IX will be the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. Star wars is undoubtedly one of the most cherished and madly loved cinema franchise of all, but the makers of this finest piece of cinema creation had a setback last year when Solo ( a film based on character Han Solo) failed to perform well and hardly covered its cost. Even after failure of solo, there is no downfall in fans anticipation of 9th installment of frontline star war movies (Skywalker Saga), afterall it’s star wars guys and there is history of more than 4 decades behind it.
It is set to be released on December 20, 2019 in the United States.
3. Avengers Endgame
This is the probably the most obvy entry in this list. Since the infinite war, numerous fan theories are coming by as to how are favorite superheroes are coming back to life. These theories will finally come to end on 26 April 2019 when this much awaited movie will release.
Thanos has wiped half the universe out of existence and is chilling somewhere. Now we wait for our remaining heroes to pick up the pieces and return the world to its former glory.
4. John Wick: Chapter 3
Eleven years after the matrix trilogy, in 2014 Keenu Reeves gifted us with yet another amazing movie franchise, John Wick. Since then, from hunting the murderers of his dog to being hunted by a syndicate of assassins, John Wick has come a long way. Chapter 3 will focus on Wick, who is on the run from his former allies. Film is planned to release in theaters on May 17, 2019.
5. Frozen 2
Frozen 2 is expected to release on 27th November and we simply can’t let it go. Am sure none of you simply cannot wait to see Rudolph and Reindeer and how Olaf manages to live when it’s not snowing anymore. The film features the returning voice talents of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, along with the new voices of Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown.
6. The Irishman
The release of a new Martin Scorsese film is always a cause for celebration, but “The Irishman” re-teams Scorsese with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, making this a must-see for anyone who has long waited for a “Goodfellas” reunion. With “The Irishman,” Scorsese is going back into the mob world he does best. From “The Aviator” to “Raging Bull,” no one brings biopics to life is as Scorsese, and the much-talked about CGI de-aging of De Niro is already making this an exciting one.
With a production budget as high as $200 million, it is the most expensive project of Scorsese’s career. The film is anticipated to be released by Netflix in October 2019. The film will have a theatrical release, but it will be limited release
7. The Lion King
The lion king is a computer animated remake of Disney’s traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name. Original lion was a movie that hardly any one of us might have missed in our childhoods. I am sure none of us is still ready for Mufasa’s death. Anyhow, we will all be watching it. Donald Glover is Simba, Beyonce is Nala, John Oliver is Zazu and hell, Seth Rogen is Pumba.
8.Spider Man : Far From Home
Far from home is set to be the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and the twenty-third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It follows Parker and his friends as they go on a school trip to Europe.
Spider-Man isn’t feeling so good these days. But after Avengers 4, he will be and the movie is going to be great afterall Tom Holland is young enough to carry his own franchise for the next 10-12 years.
9.Toy Story 4
It is the fourth installment in Pixar’s Toy Story series, and the sequel to Toy Story 3 (2010). With Andy going to college, we all thought that it was an end to an era. But Toy Story 4 is all set to return as Buzz Lightyear and Sherrif Woody go out to find Bo Peep and bring her back.
10. It: Chapter 2
IT scared the hell out of us and the makers are not done yet, franchise will be back this year to scare us once again. Warner Bros. Pictures plans to release It: Chapter Two in theaters on September 6, 2019
I know, I have missed lot of other movies coming this year that are largely awaited like Shazam, Aladdin, Pokémon, Pet Sematary. You guys might be excited for some other movies. Let us know your anticipated movies in comments.
